Homeschool Cooperative

Where Catholic Families Grow in Faith and Friendship

Simple. Fun. Centered on Jesus.

Welcome to Holy Family Homeschool Cooperative

Holy Family Catholic Co-op is a Catholic homeschool co-op in Santa Rosa, California, serving young and growing families at The Cathedral of St. Eugene and throughout Sonoma County.

What Makes Us Different

A Catholic Co-op Built for Families

Holy Family Catholic Co-op was created for young and growing Catholic families who homeschool.

We keep things simple.

Parents remain the primary educators of their children while families come together for:

  • Faith Formation
  • Enrichment Classes
  • Friendship and Play
  • Liturgy & Devotions

How the Co-op Works

We gather weekly for a mix of classes are taught by a combination of professional educators and homeschooling parents, creating a supportive environment where families share their gifts with one another.

Many of our families speak English and Spanish, reflecting the life of the parish and the wider Santa Rosa Catholic community.

Why Holy Family Homeschool Co-op Exists

Holy Family Catholic Co-op exists to support families who homeschool at home, not replace them.

Parents remain the primary educators of their children. What we offer is what families often can’t easily do on their own — things like group devotions, hands-on science and art, physical education, and time for kids to grow together in the Catholic faith.

At the heart of the co-op is something simple: family life lived with Christ at the center.

Inspired by the Holy Family of Nazareth, we believe dads lead in faith, moms are the heart of the home, and children learn best when faith is part of everyday life.

Our goal is to keep things simple, family-centered, and low stress, especially for young and growing families.

Based at St. Eugene Parish in Santa Rosa, Holy Family brings together Catholic homeschool families from across Sonoma County who want support, friendship, and a place where their children can grow in faith.

How Our Week Works

Holy Family Catholic Co-op meets twice a week from 10am to Noon at St. Eugene Parish in Santa Rosa.  Our mornings are simple and family-friendly, giving children a place to learn, play, and grow in faith together.

Academic Day

This morning focuses on science, social studies, and physical education with hands-on learning, teamwork, and prayer woven throughout the day.

Classes are led by a mix of professional teachers and homeschooling parents who share their gifts with the co-op.

Montessori Preschool led by Mrs. Christina Lorbeer is offered on our Academic Day.

Fellowship Day

A relaxed morning centered on art, devotions/ liturgy, and shared activities.

Many families join this day for friendship, creativity, and prayer. It’s also a great option for families who:

• do online schooling
• attend another co-op
• simply want a day for social time and faith life

Families are welcome to attend both days or just Fellowship Day.

🕯️ Acolyte Academy (Grades 3+)Inside the Mass & Eucharistic Adoration, helping students grow in reverence for the Eucharist through teaching, hands-on learning, and prayer.  Classes taught by Instituted Acolytes.

Nursery for Young Families

We know many homeschool families have babies and little ones, so a nursery is available both days to support moms with younger children.

Prayer at the Heart of the Co-op

Each day we start with group prayer and pray the Angelus together, followed by optional lunch and time for children to play.

Our families also gather in the Cathedral of St. Eugene for:

➤ First Friday Mass
Third Friday Eucharistic Adoration & Rosary

Faith isn’t just a subject we teach.  It’s the life we’re trying to pass on to our children.

The Power of the Family Rosary

We feel that the Holy Rosary is the heartbeat of our domestic church. It’s how our families draw closer to Jesus through Mary with dads leading in prayer, mothers nurturing faith, and children learning the love of Christ at their side.

The Rosary is more than a devotion; it’s the liturgy of the family, where Jesus is enthroned as King in every home. When families gather to pray, grace flows, hearts are united, and peace takes root.

“There is no surer means of calling down God’s blessings upon the family than the daily recitation of the Rosary.” - Pope Pius XII
